Fast regularized linear sampling for inverse scattering problems

چکیده
A new numerical procedure is proposed for the reconstruction of the shape and volume of unknown objects from measurements of their radiation in the far field. This procedure is a variant and the linear sampling method and has a very acceptable computational load and is fully automated. It is based on exploiting an iteratively computed truncated singular-value decomposition and heuristics to extract the desired signal from the background noise. Its performance on a battery of examples of different types is shown to be promising.

Uniqueness and numerical methods in inverse obstacle scattering
The inverse problem we consider in this tutorial is to determine the shape of an obstacle from the knowledge of the far field pattern for scattering of time-harmonic plane waves. In the first part we will concentrate on the issue of uniqueness, i.e., we will investigate under what conditions an obstacle and its boundary condition can be identified from a knowledge of its far field pattern for i...
متن کاملFast spectral methods for the shape identification problem of a perfectly conducting obstacle
We are concerned with fast methods for the numerical implementation of the direct and inverse scattering problems for a perfectly conducting obstacle. The scattering problem is usually reduced to a single uniquely solvable modified combined-field integral equation (MCFIE). For the numerical solution of the M-CFIE we propose a new high-order spectral algorithm by transporting this equation on th...
متن کاملFIST: A fast visualizer for fixed-frequency acoustic and electromagnetic inverse scattering problems
We describe a software package for the solution of two dimensional inverse scattering problems based on the linear sampling method. Our tool is designed according to an Object-Oriented paradigm and provides a rapid visualization of the objects profile from noisy far-field data in the case of both inhomogeneous and impenetrable objects. An application to microwave tomography is considered, showi...
متن کاملAn improved time domain linear sampling method for Robin and Neumann obstacles
We consider inverse obstacle scattering problems for the wave equation with Robin or Neumann boundary conditions. The problem of reconstructing the geometry of such obstacles from measurements of scattered waves in the time domain is tackled using a time domain linear sampling method. This imaging technique yields a picture of the scatterer by solving a linear operator equation involving the me...
متن کاملA Novel Linear Em Reconstruction Algo- Rithm with Phaseless Data
This paper presents a fast and effective electromagnetic reconstruction algorithm with phaseless data under weak scattering conditions. The proposed algorithm is based on the phaseless data multiplicative regularized contrast sources inversion method (PDMRCSI). We recast the weak scattering problem as an optimization problem in terms of the undetermined contrast and contrast sources. Using the ...
